“The Last Question” by Isaac Asimov

The father of robot fiction, Isaac Asimov, conceived of this short story, in which man asks the self-adjusting, self-correcting supercomputer Multivac a seemingly harmless question, only for the ramifications to last trillions of years into the future. What happens when you ask an intelligent program a stupid question? Well, there’s a reason why the story is entitled, “The Last Question.”
